A Community Outreach Event

It is no secret that our public schools are in deep financial trouble. One of the programs that is tremendously impacted is music. For the entire month of March, members of the Chorale will participate in National Music in our Schools Month as we send small groups of musicians out into our public schools to perform mini-concerts in an attempt to excite children about music. If you would like to join the Chorale in this musical endeavor, please contact the Chorale office at 935-1576 or visit the “contact us” page on this website. We’d love to have you join us!

And finally in May, the Chorale is joined by Sonoma’s own brilliant young tenor, Diego Garcia as we present the seldom-performed “Messa di Gloria” of Giacomo Puccini. Accompanied by orchestra, you will be delighted by this charming piece that Puccini composed in his teen-age years. The young Puccini shines as he weaves Verdian vocal lyricism and symphony orchestra, rich in colors, articulation and dramatic tension. You’ll enjoy hearing many of the melodies that Puccini would later develop more fully in Madame Butterfly, Tosca and Manon Lescaut.   We promise you an enchanting experience as the Chorale and Diego present this captivating piece by one of the world’s great opera composers.
